Baruch S. Blumberg Institute

IHVRThe Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, formerly known as the Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research, is named in honor of Nobel Laureate Dr. Baruch Blumberg who won the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the hepatitis B virus and Co-Founder of the Hepatitis B Foundation. The Blumberg Institute is a designated Ben Franklin Innovations Center because of its strong commitment to biotechnology entrepreneurship and promotion of academic-commercial partnerships. Its resources and scientists are made available to biotech and hi-tech start-up firms in the area to maximize collaborative efforts. The Blumberg Institute also actively encourages bio- and high-tech companies outside of the area to learn more about what Bucks County and the Southeastern Pennsylvania region has to offer.
